This page will give an overview of the project and its goals.
The scope of this project is to design, build, and test a particle image velocimetry (PIV) system capable of tracking the motion of microscopic tracer particles to analyze fluid flow fields. The system will interface with a physiologically relevant neurovascular flow model to investigate cerebral hemodynamics and evaluate how medical devices, such as catheters, detachable coils, stents, and flow diverters, affect these flow characteristics. The ultimate goal is to advance stroke research and contribute to the improvement of stroke and aneurysm treatment methods.
