Design Alternatives
The design alternatives shown below include sketches. This primarily consists of roof brainstorming. These drawings do not include windows or structural framing for the first and second floor. Design 1 incorporates a simple truss roof with a king post and overhang on both sides of the structure. Design 2 consists of a monoslope roof with overhang on both sides. Design 3 also incorporates a roof truss and king post design, but includes more truss members. The truss roof hangs over both sides of the structure.
Design Matrices
Sky High Structures has developed a decision matrix to determine which roof design our team should carry on with for the competition. This table is broken down by cost, aesthetic, constructability, sustainability, and functionality. Each design is weighed and scored on a scale of 1 to 3, with the highest-scoring of design chosen for the proposed design. Design 1 has the highest score in the decision matrix.

Construction Costs
The construction costs are used as a comparison for the estimated and actual costs. The cost estimate will likely change from what is shown in the table. For further information, visit Section 5 of the Sky High Structures Final Proposal Report.
